My friend checked loadings on QF staff travel for SIN-BOM for travel this Thursday evening and it shows J as 29 out of 30 available and Y as 140. Considering I have a confirmed J seat on this flight, it sort of indicates I am the only J passenger on this leg. However when I try to do seat selection it shows another 9 allocated seats, not including the usual row 1 on both window sides reserved for CL. There is also only 2 staff listed both for J upgrades. I do not understand why so many seats are blocked out when they are willing to still sell 29 seats in J? I always thought row 1 releases at T80, maybe not for intl flights. I will be checking in the mornign and if still blocked will call QF and see what can be done and what they say.

All this means is that Qantas are willing to sell at least 9 seats in Business class and 9 in economy.

There are 20 unallocated J seats on this flight of which 6 are blocked. 10 are allocated.

The allocated seats are 2A/B/E/K, 3A & 4A/B/E/F/J.

In reality, 29 available J makes not a lot of sense. There's no urgency for operational upgrades either.

FWIW, it's also showing U2 X9

On the actual QF staff travel portal it shows J at 29 and D at 29 and apparantly this shows true availability I have been told, hence the weird seat allocation. Also for Y it is showing 140 available so going to be a quiet flight.

today it has dropped to 22 in J available. Will call and see if I can get 1A, hopefully just blocked and no CL on flight.
