Is there a way I can look for partner airline tickets or oneworld alliance RTW tickets using the Qantas FF website?

I'm looking at booking a flight along the lines of SYD-DXB-LIM (or Johannesburg-GCJ)-LHR-JFK-ORD (or possibly BOS)-LAX-SYD

Is there a way to find availability rather than trying to call through the call centre (as my itinary is very tentative at present).

You could scan the individual schedules of partner airlines via their respective websites, although this can be time consuming. Zuji might be worth a try, or a regular travel agent could do it for you.

Welcome to AFF. :D

If you are looking for award seats using Qantas FF points, then no there is not a way to do it and you have to call the QF Reservations number and pay the extra 2500 points assisted booking fine.

thanks :) I've been on this site for a while... more than 3 years, but only registered today :) ... somewhat an old newbie! ;)

I'll give Qantas a call as I was thinking of doing this using my points... I am a bit suprised that Dubai wasn't on their list of destinations though, as apparently Qantas does codeshare with Emirates

Heh heh... :D The word "fine" is so much more appropriate than "fee", isn't it.

Check again. QF codeshares with Gulf Air on routes including Singapore to Bahrain and Bahrain to Dubai. no such agreement with Emirates.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Why is fine called fine? It isnt fine by me to be fined. It isnt even fine using the meaning as in fine wine, to be fined.

In this case being fined because QF web cant handle the booking is really not fine. Perhaps the not so fine fine should be called QF IT Disfunction Penalty?

Speaking as both a computer programmer and a keen consumer of RTW tickets, I'd say that it's probably the complexity that makes it difficult. I don't think any airline offers a RTW web booker, though of course I stand to be corrected here.

There is a downloadable itinerary planner at http://www.oneworld.com/travel_planning/home.cfm which checks the timetable and the rules, but it's a bit simple minded and doesn't do any on-line lookups.

For a RTW ticket using award points, I can't see any way that the process isn't going to be tedious and frustrating. A lot of the time all you'd get would be an error message saying that the itinerary is unavailable - please contact an operator. Perhaps they are just cutting to the chase.

Fair enough with respect to RTWs, but even simple round trip partner awards cant be booked online (not to mention some routings on QF metal).

But I do think if you're going to charge for phone/ticket office bookings then it should be waived if it isnt possible to book online.
