Hi Everyone

I booked a BA reward flight via Qantas and it’s a connecting flight. Ive just been notified of a schedule change (by only 5 mins).

It doesn’t affect anything but I want to ask whether I should get a new eticket given the schedule change and given it’s a partner airline. First time flying BA.

I rang Qantas this morning because I couldn’t accept the changes without calling and agent (sounds like Manila or Phillipines) said given it’s only 5 mins, they said it’s the same ticket. They told me it auto updates so I didn’t need to accept it. They did send me a ticket generation dated today around the eticket numbers in Amadeus format (black and white) and saying pdf coming because I asked for it. I am not sure if this is just a reprint of previous.

With previous reward partners I have always got a new ticket but then I was always able to just accept changes on the app or via manage booking.

Thanks in advance.

PS. Checked rj.com it shows the same ticket number but there was a note on there that a schedule change has happened and still asking me to acknowledge it even though I have ?

I have been advised (by Hobart) that no re-ticket was necessary for a similar small schedule change on a BA flight booked with Qantas point, that was last year. Only the arrival time was changed, not the departure, I don't know if this matters or not. Is your departure time the same?
I have been advised several time that booked BA award won't drop even if not ticketed (unlike most other partner airlines).

Having say all that, I also have a schedule change that came overnight for my BA award seat, only the arrival time has changed. I will call Qantas, if for anything, to make sure I did the right thing, in case something goes wrong with my ticket. I expect a similar answer as yours: No reticket. I'll report back once I made the call (within the next 7 days I think).

I've had lots of small schedule changes like this and my understanding is that as long as it doesn't cause problems with minimum connection time (MCT) to other legs, it will not require a re-ticket. There might be an issue if a schedule change causes a date change (i.e. 2355 changes to 0005 the next day), but airlines generally try to avoid that.

My change was departure change from 19.45pm to 19.40pm.
Connection time still 5hrs 20 mins. No huge impact.

Go to the Royal Jordanian website - rj.com - and navigate to Manage Booking.
See if your itinerary still shows the OLD ticket numbers and the NEW flight times.
If yes, then should be fine.
If no, then start damage control immediately.

Hi Everyone, just an update.

Basically after first call to agent (Manila) Phillipines (who said it was fine), I checked again and my booking still stuck on “requiring confirmation”. She has sent me Amadeus e tickets and itinerary but it still didn’t look right. I requested another eticket from qantas and it showed original flight time.

So I called last night and got Hobart this time. Agent agreed that it is still stuck. Put through my acceptance for changes. This got rid of all the errors on my booking and rj.com. Hobart told me new tickets should arrive but call back if I haven’t received it after 2hrs. Also got sent Amadeus “travel doc” saying ticketing is in queue and confirmed my acceptance.

Of course still no ticket this morning. I rang and got Hobart again. Hobart confirmed my changes were accepted but not ticketed. Got them to reticket. After 15 mins. New e tickets arrived.

Moral of the story, yes you still need new e-tickets even for 5 min schedule changes and Hobart team is the best 😂😂😂😂

PS. New etickets match rj 😊

May not be applicable for an award booking, but a revenue fare may have conditions that ANY changes require a repricing which in turn will lead to a ticket re-issue aka a new ticket.

Update on my small BA schedule change on my QF award (arriving 10 min later, for same departure time):
Clicking on "accept" change did the trick, I received the new itinerary within minutes.
The ticket numbers have changed, so it was re-ticketed.

Overall, I am surprised the IT worked. Makes me nervous something is wrong.

Ok, I still have to call and chase 80k points from a previous change made 6 weeks ago.

My one didn’t even give me option to accept. It actually said I have to call for the confirmation. You might be ok given your ticket numbers have changed and reticketed. I would just make sure it matches up with rj.com website.

I am always a nervous nelly with things like this because I’ve had issues with tickets not being reticketed properly in the past. 😔
