You can book MEL-SYD-AKL-SYD-MEL online using using the multi-city option to save around $100 ($530).

40 SC's can also be earned for around $332 with a StarClass flight between MEL and SYD. The fly via CBR on the return for another $200 and 20 SC's

Or book a MEL-SYD-CBR-MEL with SYD-CBR in J for $540 and 60 SC's.

Obviously there's ADL-SYD/MEL-BNE and ADL-SYD-CBR. If you want to mix it up you can also do BNE-SYD-CBR along with CBR-SYD-ADL. I did this when they had ADL-CBR going for $75 - was booking BNE-ADL anyway so thought I'd visit CBR, hadn't been there for ages. Strange story, basically ended up in J lounge for 3 hours and more SCs.

You could mix & match them for fun. Otherwise one could easily do it return - 8 flights in a day, probably even more, depending on schedules. But genuinely, does anyone condone such Y torture?
Oh yes, some of us not only condone it, but actually do it...here's a good example

Thanks Serfty! Just one stupid question though, do I do multi-city international or domestic? It doesn't seem to let me do both. :( Maybe it's just me though. :)

For the AKL option, international multi. (Select Melbourne to Sydney, Sydney to Auckland, Auckland to Sydney and Sydney to Melbourne)

For the third option, domestic multi. (Select Melbourne to Sydney/Canberra, Sydney/Canberra to Canberra/Sydney and Canberra/Sydney to Melbourne)

For the second option, separate one-way bookings on QF and JQ web sites.

Just on the international multi city; if you use the map and then you select Melbourne then it doesn't always let you select Sydney so you need to go to Advance booking down the bottom of the page.

This should be the link; https://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/multi-city-flight-search/global/en?entrypoint=intmulticity

I have spent the last few days planning a trip to AKL via SYD or MEL and I couldn't figure a way to force the booking via Sydney or Melbourne.
