Something made me smile when I think about my latest YUPP trip LAX-SFO. I had the same aircraft and crew (different pilots though) on the return flight SFO-LAX.

The attendant in the F cabin was shocked to find me sitting in the same seat literally 45 minutes before. She guessed that I was working for the airlines and I was doing some 'undercovered' market research work (like mysterious shopping of sort)!

Have you been in this situation before and what did the FAs say to you?

My flight was AA LAX-LAS-LAX. As I was boarding the aircraft for my return flight the Captain was standing in the F Galley and recognized me from the previous flight the Captain shouted to me "I know what your doing, your collecting miles" I was actually very surprised and the same time embarrassed the captain recognized me as we has made no contact on the previous flight.

I've done it quite a bit, including a SYD-PER on J where I got off, had something signed and got back on again. Crew didn't seem overly supprised about it all, did recognise me though.

Had the same thing happen to me LAX-SYD but it was the same technical crew two weeks after I flew SYD-LAX, was on a freebie famil flight with UA in the jump sheet, it certainly felt very familar when I entered the coughpit at LAX :) After take off got to grab an empty J seat out back, and low and behold the J cabin supervisor was the same as well, it was a nice flight, although the view from the flight deck inbound to LAX when we were sequenced to visually follow 8 preceeding aircraft for the same runway is something I will never forget!

I had the same crew on a turnaround two years ago -LAX-HNL-LAX-. I was sitting in 3A (757) both ways; treated well LAX-HNL, treated even better HNL-LAX!

Not quite a turnaround but when we did the 'Farewell to domestic Jetconnect' flyaround in May (an FT organised thing, 8 people involved in the flying part), on the Saturday we flew AKL-WLG-AKL followed by AKL-CHC-AKL. The cabin crew on WLG-AKL fronted up again on the AKL-CHC and were most surprised to see the same 8 blokes (and occupying, as we managed for every flight, the first 2 rows of the plane).

They naturally inquired why we were there and seemed quite impressed when told why. Hot Dot the FA even snapped a few photos of us (or certainly pointed her camera and pretended at least).

I think we got a complimentary (alcoholic) drink on one of the flights but can't recall which one.

It wasn't quite the same 8; I replaced someone; interesting to remember it though as I guess things can happen closer to home; and you don't realise it.

I had the same crew on a Perth-Adelaide-Brisbane flight; there was a change of aircraft and the pilots changed but the cabin crew were the same.

On landing in LAX (from ORD) a few weeks ago at ~8pm) I counted 9 sets of lights approaching the runway... the movement frequency at LAX is amazing
