I recently booked a few flights Biz Class with S7 (Siberian airlines)using QF Points via Qantas website. to my shock the fees for Adults was 7 Pounds each whilst the kids fees were 52 pounds each. 2 adults and 2 kids was $220 in fees(II questioned this via chat on QF website and after waiting almost an hours I was told that S7 charges more than 7 times more in fees etc for a child award redemption.!! Seems odd to me.

Anyway I have to redeem more award seats with S7 in the future, will I have a problem booking award seats for my kids in the future and listing them as adults and then fronting up at the check in counter. They are 8 and 10 years old?? Flights will be domestic in Russia.

I wouldn't book a child on an adult ticket.

That said, this doesn't sound right to me. Why would a child ticket be 7x more expensive? I just did a few dummy bookings on the Qantas website and the taxes on a child award are the same as an adult with S7 Airlines.

I have just booked 2 x J Biz class flights again with S7 for my 2 boys. St petersburg to Krasnoyarsk. taxes were $26 aud each. This was done thru the Chat on Qantas website. They waived the assistance fees as i couldn't book these online. The process was quick and painless.
