Ryanair is reducing the size of its in-flight magazine, serving passengers less ice – and even asking cabin crew to watch their figures – as part of efforts to trim its fuel bill.

With the price of jet fuel rising sharply in recent years, airlines have devised ever more imaginative methods to reduce the weight of their aircraft.

I am surprised Ryanair has not already asked all staff to evacuate there bowels before they fly and don't consume any thing mid flight.

Whilst I'm not entirely unconvinced this is not a ploy for free advertising from RyanAir (although it lacks the general absurdity for which the are known for) , I can't believe I am going to agree with something they say...

Damn straight, it's not like you can say to the check in agent, "look, I was considering getting the fuel option, but on second thoughts I won't buy any fuel today..."

Yeah that part I would have to agree with. I think QANTAS just uses fuel surcharges so they can get away with devaluing our Frequent Flyer Points.

Mind you, you rarely see and overweight air stewardess on an Asian airline. Almost all of them have a zero size waist!!!

that's because some asian airlines only make limited sizes for their uniforms...and if you dont fit the sizes provided, you don't have a job!! (this is a fact)! :shock:

I remember some Middle Eastern airlines (I think Emirates) was advertising for FA's and they had all these height and weight criteria. From memory they even had a max height of 180cm-185cm.
