Rumours: CX to ditch OW for *A?

I'm just amazed that this ever got airplay let alone so many posts.

Must be a lot of bored (or misinformed) people around.

Of course, CX were never going to leave One world.

Until CA buys 100% of CX one day.

 CX is my carrier of choice BKK-SIN (and generally any other destinations they service from here) and their specials are great for BKK-HKG etc. Forget J* - too difficult negotiating baggage and needing to collect luggage for ongoing flights is a huge PITA - they are indeed my "last resort".

I hope it's just a rumour - at this point we don't even know if Qantasia is going to be a "Full Service" or LLC carrier. So at this point in time, they aren't even under consideration for my needs, regardless of what they're saying.

It's already been said the new airline will be a premium service airline and not a LCC

Now,now. You have been around here long enough to know we,or at least I,dont let facts get in the way of a good story.
And as to posts well I have to get to 5000 posts before.....well I know it is someone I have to beat.:p

The only thing that amazes me is that there are people who read Ben Sandilands regularly.Surely you can be mislead here just as easily;)

CX is a founding member of OW after all... if they do indeed switch, that would be one of the bigger back flips in the history of the industry.

I stand corrected; must have missed that post if made here on AFF. If it was reported anywhere else, being in BKK means I would have heard nothing.

Hard to keep up with everything Qantas is doing these days!! ;-)

That would put a dent into Oneworld in Asia if that rumour were to be true. Although that dent may not be so bad with MH coming on board.

If *A can sustain TG & SQ, then OW can manage CX & MH.

Maybe Jetstar in all of its forms will replace them in Asia. ;)

Go to the back of the class! ;)

However low representation in growth markets of China and India must be a worry for oneworld.

I think that's a contributing factor for the introduction of QF's new Asian offshoot as they really need to base a carrier that's central to these countries. Of course the lower cost base doesn't go astray either!

Why don't you checkout the threads on Anytime Access or QF Priority Boarding, you'll probably have a rethink.

Given that they have a very large cross shareholding with a Star Alliance carrier i'm a little surprised that you can be so emphatic. Surely in the medium to long run the relationship between CA and CX could well lead to them both ending up in the same alliance?

That is not what I meant. I see no issues with Oneworld having both CX & MH as carriers in Asia.

The problem for Oneworld would be if CX was no longer a member. And don't get me wrong MH is a good airline but which ever way you look at it they are not CX.

Either way hope this is just a rumour.
