I really have to wonder what might have been if cooper and genia were available. Link manage to wring great performances out of them (especially cooper) for the reds.

So how did people go who had applications in for the General Sale ballot?

I missed out for NZ v Tonga, which means its sold out in Cat. C & D apparently. So will have to aim for Cat. A or B in the 'real-time' sale next month then, or try my luck again in Cardiff with NZ v Georgia the week before. Still hopeful...

Finally! Got my tickets for New Zealand v Tonga in the Pre-General Sale last night. The queuing to get into the site was painful, but once in I had no problems. Snapped up Category B tickets, very happy! Now just have to sort out flights to/from NCL. Hotel already sorted weeks ago, it pays to have a stack of IHG Rewards points handy for occasions like these.

For all Wallabies fans: Only Australia v Fiji (in Cardiff) shows availability, in Categories B, C, and D.

Thanks for pointing that out. Having bought Cat B seats we're now seated in what is shown as Cat A on their maps, on the main stand high above the media pack, right in the centre. Very happy! Also because we'll be dry under the big roof (it's Newcastle in October after all). Really looking forward to the entire trip now as it's coming closer, heading off mid September for Germany first.

Happy days. Let's hope more AFFers get into the mood

If the Aussies can win Group A we r a real chance!!

I'm starting to get excited with the first All Blacks squad to be announced this weekend. Unfortunately I simply don't have the time to get over to the UK for a game or two this time around.

In a sign of confidence one of my NZ suppliers has booked his return journey after the last game has been played. I guess he is thinking positively.

And why wouldn't he be

World Rugby

Seriously though I understand that any sport "could" be won by any of the top 8 or so but the All Blacks are justifiably the favourites and it's there to lose. There are plenty of people "talking positive" about the Wallabies, the world ranking (and Super XV results) would suggest Kiwis have considerable more to be positive about (notwithstanding that they aren't in general so overtly so as a group).

Because the all blacks have a tendency to chock.
Whats a chock?

Seriously though, yes there is some ancient history of choking, but you need to go back over 10 years to find a serious example. Whereas the Wallabies talk a good game but haven't seriously threatened that top of the world ranking since 2005 (bring back John Eales). So aside from the satisfaction it give to sledge the Kiwis (and yes I know they have been known to react) the reality is that its the Wallabies who haven't lived up to expectation for a long LONG time.

Maybe it because despite at the "positivity" we don't really expect them to win.

PS. Going to the Wallabies launch this week, at least that should be fun.

You can't really claim there's been any expectation for the wallabies to win for a long time. A choke is when it's there's to take, and they don't win. The wallabies have never really been in that situation, even with Eales.

I guess that depends on who it is that surrounds you. Personally I agree with you but there of plenty of others who have drank the "cool-aid" of the positivity coming from the Wallabies camp and seem to genuinely have believed the Wallabies will win.

As for a choke, well the very last Bledisloe game was there to be won (as was the first game in the series), the game against Argentina was there to be won, the game against France/England/Ireland in the EOY tour were all was there to be won. Going back a bit further surely you'd admit the game against Samoa should have been won. The game against the All Blacks, sure no-one had them as favourites but the others? They all read like chokes to me!

With all the off field cough last year they're lucky to have won anything. I'm also thinking much more than last year.

The ABs will have a cruise through their pool but Wallabies have a very tough pool A
Either way a great stage for the tournament. England will do s top job

had a bit of a play looking at redemption flights to see if i can line up a work trip at the same time. availability unsurprisingly few and far between.
