Can anyone enlighten me on how to go about getting RTW fares using my QFF points. Cant find anywhere on the QF site. Only want stops PTH-SIN-LHR-JFK-LAX-SYD-PER. So maybe better to buy cheap RTW ?. Anyone help with best deal or have any good tricks.

Cheers

I presume you mean :how do I get RTW quotes (using my points) on a trip PER/SIN/LHR/JFK/LAX/SYD/PER. My understand is that the only way is to ring up QF Res and find out - subsequent to 25 May, it has become harder for pax to "do it themselves".

Tips:

PER/SIN: you have the daily QF 77 or less frequent QF71 or QF15
SIN/LHR: you have the daily QF31 of less frequent QF15 or QF 9 (or codeshare BA flights QF319 or QF387)
LHR/JFK - look for QF codeshares on BA flights
JFK/LAX - look at using QF108 (JFK/LAX) on Sun, Wed & Fri (or any of the multiple codeshare AA flights)
LAX/SYD - there are a number of flights daily (QF108 or QF12) or the less frequent QF8, or even QF176 (via BNE).

RTW fares can be found here - try an LONE4 (L class, on Oneworld airlines, 4 continents) from $2,979 to $3,239 (depending on when you are travelling).

Don't even try to attempt to book a RTW using FF points solely on QF. It will cost dearly, as every time you stop in a place for more than 24 hrs you have to incur a new one way redemption fee.

The best means is using a One World RTW redemption (142,500 pts in Y, 282,500 pts in J). See this link for the points table . This allows five stopovers (of more than 24 hrs), up to 35,000 miles and 16 flight sectors but you must use the services of at least two OW carriers (not including QF). So there are plenty of options, eg SIN-HKG-LHR on CX, or use BA to fly SIN-LHR, then BA or AA LHR-JFK, AA or QF from JFK to LAX and coming back from LAX unless you have to go via SYD, CX via HKG could also be a feasible option. Just make sure you have two extra one world carriers, apart from QF, in the mix.
