Hi
I am looking at business class RTW from Perth to Africa, Cape Town then Zambia/Malawi then Addis Abba followed by South America and back to Perth. Happy to do a stop over in Europe or Uk on the way. I have heard you can get much better pricing by getting to KL or SG and getting a RTW ticket from there. I would love to get some suggestions on how to get the best pricing for the ticket. This will not be until early 2016 so plenty of time to arrange.

Thanks

Welcome, JimW.

Any chance you can begin your round the world ticket in South Africa? If so, then you'll pretty much be getting the best price for a DONE4 (a oneworld four continent round the world Business class ticket). Prices ex-Malaysia and Singapore are significantly higher than South Africa.

This would require a couple of internal or separate flights to your RTW, I think, because of the limitations on oneworld flights in lower Africa. I'm also not sure if ADD (Addis Ababa) is serviced by oneworld. If it is, it would only be Qatar so check here.

You'd be looking at something like Cape Town to Johannesburg to Europe to South America to South West Pacific (Australia/NZ) and then back to Johannesburg.

Don't think you'll get S America and S Africa on a done4. May need to be 5 continent. Probable better to look at the *A version which would do exactly what you want on S. African airways- AU to JNB, then Africa, then SAA to SCL or wherever. Probably home via N America.
