I'm off to LA in a couple of weeks and as I'm on my own this trip, I thought I might try some new seating.
does anyone have any advice on the back rows in the 744 with the 2 seats as regards comfort, accessibility or general pros and cons of these seats.

I'm aware the very back row is not too good, particularly the window seat, but I'm not sure on the others

I'm looking for the same advice.. as I've just selected row 70 and 71 (the only pairs of seats in Y on the 747) for our Syd-Dfw flights in August....

I like these seats if you travel in Y and your with your significant other. Very personal. doesnt feel so squishy, but you cant lean your head against the window.

Have not done it travelling by myself.

If you want to sleep a signifcant proportion of the way I would not recommend it. Prefer to lean on the window or wall.

I like these seats, especially on not so full flights, as everyone seems to pick forward seats. Good if travelling with a partner.

Only downside is that the tail endof the 747 can feel a bit more bumpy (and whippy if the pilot does a fishtail on landing :) )

My wife & I have used these seats for the last 15 years until we moved up to PE on the A380 last year We loved them People say that you run out of meal selection, true but not a real problem and that you are last off the aircraft but in 30 years of travel my luggage has never beaten me out yet Go for it
