Sign of a desperate man I guess, but I heard some time ago that the QP was closed during the renovations at Rockvegas - until Oct?

I'm now shaping up for a return to that berg soon, even though I have been able to postpone my trips, but demand is now pushing me hard.

I's going to be a soul-destroying return trip if the QP is still subject to reno, so can someone break it to me gently??

Why do you call it rockvegas?

I don't see any similarities between las vegas and rockhampton.

Nor do I when considering that "Rockvegas" has a QP from time to time; LAS certainly does NOT! :p

trippin_the_rift,

I think you will find that Groundfeeder is taking a lend off Brisbane's other nickname Brizvegas.

Ohhh, don't get me started on the `city` that shuts down at 4:59pm every day!

trippin_the_rift, one could postulate that LAS is a long way from civilisation, but if I infer that, it may make those in Gladstone feel worse.....

Enough about the beauties and attractions of Rockvegas, does someone know the answer or do I have to search out a human at BNE QP and ask?

And I though it was to do with the current drought in SE Qld and the fact that all the grass is dying and the place is looking very desert-like.

Well, at least we got some rain in the last few days, so I might have to start mowing what is left of the lawn again soon.

According to Qantas, the refurbished QantasLink/Fitzroy Lounge in "RockVegas" has been open for 2 weeks now.

Regards

Excellento Wunala!!

Departing Rockvegas without the QP is, ... well ..... very dry.

I hope the info is correct so I don't have to slump my shoulders and avert my eyes where the QP used to be squeezed.

i heard the term 'Rockvegas' used for Rockhampton back in the early 1990's. it's been around for a while.

it's clearly a tongue firmly in cheek nick name, as is Brisvegas
