Mobile checkin doesn't work either, and the plat line tried to fix it but couldn't. Apparently it's on "airport control". Hence fear of bumping.

What is so wrong with allowing me to choose aseat on these flights >> edited <<
So long as I'm seated inside the plane and they don't bump the pilot.I have no idea where I am sitting, but what the heck. I think last time the seats were marked "must fly" in the system. I am sure that everyone will get there, one way or t'other.
Very true. The journey of life is to be enjoyed, because we may not like the destination.I think the journey is as important as the destination
Entirely understandable, IMO. Like choosing the dessert we want at the meal. It might be a freebie, but we all have our preferences.
Has Rockpool put up the map for the table seating yet? Is there a lie-flat mode?
On a serious point I do not recall seating being allocated last year (based on a re-read of this and the other thread I don't seem to recall much).
If you get a QF or VA complimentary, the ticket wont have seat allocation privileges, it locks in a seat which is determined at T-3 or thereabouts, as noted already its duty travel meaning you need to get on the plane but the system still places revenue tickets in the priority box.
I'm ready for departure.. View attachment 13824
I managed to select a seat for tomorrow via more unorthodox means.
Who knows - it may not stick (just as much as my OLCI this morning), but we'll see. Either way, I'm getting to Sydney.

That's what I recall also. There was no pre-arranged seating at the previous lunch. We sat where we wanted. I had the delightful Emily Howard next to me so we could chat about lady's things![]()
