No bites yet. You may have to ring and ask, but it is more likely to be the oneworld allowance of one extra piece.

You may want to check the RJ "special baggage" part about scuba gear making up a "piece".

Yes i may have to.

Most airlines have that stupid scuba rule. My kit is nothing like recreational gear. I carry a min of 4 regulators, 1 rebreather, drysuit, wetsuit etc.

Why should there be a rule that ou cam only carry one set of something within your weight allowance. Lucky its never enforced

I emailed RJ and got a response...ask qantas. :(:D:D:D
Either way, if I cant convince the checkin counter to give it to me as per that pollicy,
its one free piece, so its 30+30 (or 23 +50usd for that to 32). + 250 +50 for another 32kg. which is much better than anything QR or UL.

Can you go out to DOH Airport and specifically ask RJ if they will extend the 32kg limit per piece to you as a OWE as per their own Platinum Plus top tier members. Also found a link to OptionTown for putting in a bid for excess luggage and an upgrade to Crown Class.

Cheers, I'm probably just going to roll the dice. Even if it is just Y 30kg + one free 23kg, i'll still only pay 50usd for that to be 32kg. and then upto 300 for the next bag, which is still way better than QR or UL or other options. Obviously i'll argue tooth and nail (after being very polite at first) on the day.

But going to the airport is a complete waste of time - people in the middle east are not there to help you. They won't commit to anything for fear of their jobs, even if you can find someone to talk to - which is unlikely unless at RJ checkin time.
