I have a redemption in F - MEL-SIN-CGK//CGK-SIN-MEL. The final sector is with EK in F. It has been rescheduled for nearly 19 hours later. Apart from the additional cost of having to stay in Singapore overnight, I can live with the change and I have verified that there are no suitable alternative routings. What would have been an 11 hour journey is now going to be 30 hours. Would QF pay for a hotel for me in Singapore for the extra night? Would they offer any form of gratuity - e.g. FF points? Just want to know where I stand before they call me back in "over 1 hour and 30 minutes." Thanks :)

Should add - no status and the flight is in April.

I was so furious with this as well, I think we must be on the same flight! I got the same email yesterday for SIN-MEL leg. In april too.

However I just contacted emirates and they said on their end there is definitely no change. Qantas error.

Right now not sure who to believe as just two weeks ago I had my same booking fluffed around as Emirates cancelled the SIN-BNE flights as of late march 2020.

I have been mucked around 2 times now with countless hours on the phone to them. Right now I would double check anything before agreeing to rebookings first and changing your plans as emirates said that flight does not exist.

Is that EK404 ? I'm on a flight then, also in F, award seat. Advised to call QF (as Plat) and had the option of accepting the later flight (and overnight in SIN) or going QF in Business the evening before, so would still get my connecting flight from MEL. No offer to pay accommodation, and I doubt QF would spring for it - although a QF ticket, its an EK change etc etc. Although I too wouldn't mind the extra time in Singapore, I didn't have much problem in accepting the QF flight - got a refund of a bunch of points. Its a A330, so won't be too bad.

And welcome to AFF @JeX . Just read your comment re EK and 'no change' Wow! Might follow that up.

After "more than one hour and 30 minutes: (2 and a half hours), QF called me back. They have no intention of paying for the extra 19 hours in Singapore. They told me to phone EK as it was their flight change. EK said they won't provide accommodation and as it is a QF booking, I should look to them for alternative options. Sometimes life is too short - I guess I will accept the change, take an extra day's leave, shell out $140 for a room and enjoy a mutton biriyani at Zam Zam.

EK404 exactly. I would be expecting Qantas to pay for some form of accommodation as I believe it is within their compensation guidelines.

You have no idea how much hassle I have had with this one booking.

My main worry is if accept the new EK404 flight only for their to be no flight on that day and find alternative back to MEL.

I was on 15th now 16th. So EK said their is definitely a flight change? I literally called an hour ago for them to double check and they said it is still the initial 15.25 departure time. To contact qantas as it is their error

I was told by the QFF Plat line that its a permanent re-timing of the flight, and looking at the EK schedule, it is, from at least early April (edit: no, it shows original schedule at the moment)

My main worry is if accept the new EK404 flight only for their to be no flight on that day and find alternative back to MEL.

I'd say the risk of that is only the normal IRROPs risk. If you can afford the time (and the hotel) I'd be relaxed and go with the next day flight.

OH wow, I did the same thing assuming website was wrong as since we all booked on F got straight through, he triple confirmed now change and got a bit upset I kept checking. I will call emirates again to double check 15/16.

Just got off phone to emirates, don't know what the first guy was saying then. Confirmed new EK404 flight schedule changes after 29th March 2020. So qantas was correct. .... Now I need to see what Qantas can do to help my connecting flight back to BNE. I have spent 9 hours on the phone first time round, 2 hours last night. Hopefully I don't get too old before this gets resolved

Sounds to me like RooFlyer and Mr H should meet up prior to 29 April flight and share many drinks - in the EK 9or QF F) lounge :D

A colleague was in the same boat with a reward booking for two on EK404 in April.
He's just now called up and got it changed to QF38.
All done in ten minutes and a nice refund on the outrageous EK surcharge to boot.

Love to, but I chose QF 38 on the 29th, dep 23:30-ish. I get in on a QR bird at 9:05am, so was planning to go into town. But may see you in the lounges if you are early-ish (I think EK9 deps at 2:25pm? I may also just decide to veg out and/or get a day room airside, so its more likely on than not.

Good thinking, but I'm on a flight out at 10.35 so unless Roo Flyer gets to the airport in very good time for his flight...

I'll see you in the lounges, for sure! Am QF Plat, so can get in irrespective that I downgraded myself the J :)
