Hi,
I've waited for reward seats to be released for Sydney to Perth and there are hardly any in Economy yet there are loads on previous dates. Do more reward seats become available?
Thanks,
Robyn

They usually only release a certain number of seats for rewards. These are not on every flight or even on every day. So if you can’t get exactly what you want, you probably need to consider taking award seats on dates that are available or paying for a seat. It’s possible, but, in my experience, unusual that they may add a few extra seats closer to departure. Say if someone cancels an award booking - although it seems that theses seats may also be returned to the revenue sale pool.

In short, I’d say if you see something suitable even if not exactly what you want, book it before it vanishes.

Funny this is posted today, as we had a rather peculiar issue last night when booking some PER - BNE rewards flights in economy for Feb-Mar 2024.

My wife logged in (Bronze QFF) to see availability - which there was plenty. However the return flight on 10 Mar at 13.50 was not showing as having economy rewards availability. So we decided on catching a flight earlier that day which showed availability.

She then logged in as me (Gold QFF) to make the booking, and suddenly I saw economy reward seat availability on the 13.50 flight which to her was not available...

Do QF economy domestic rewards availability vary by QFF status? Seems it must?
