I guess the biggie that many of us have had experience with, is the Priority Privilege call centre con job, but I was wondering what other retail rip-offs people endure.
For me, the latest was yesterday. Driving home at lunch time, I thought I'd quickly drop into a Muck-and-Chuck burger shop to grab a quick bite. I haven't been near a McDonalds for ages so whilst surveying the menu board, I was somewhat horrified to see a medium Big Mac meal deal was $9.15 . Anyway, I continued to study the menu and I noticed they're currently advertising an All Day Meal Deal with one choice being a Big Mac medium meal for $5. I asked the young lady behind the counter what the difference was and she replied "nothing, they are both the same", so I said I'd have the $5 deal. While she was completing the sale, I asked her what she would have charged if I just asked for a Big Mac medium meal and she stated "oh we have to charge you for the dearer one unless you ask for the $5 deal"..............What a con job. Almost double the price. I thought if a company offered a sale price on a product or service, it was bound to honour that offer. Obviously, not.
