Hi

This is my first post on this site.
I have recently received an email from QF that I am allowed to request an upgrade for my Tras Tasman flgith (on 18 March) with booking class O, for the limited time. I had to request until midnight of 15 March. So I have done it so. I am just wondering on which occasion QF would send this kind of email to waiver the restrictions of inter national upgrade. It would be appreciated if somebody could show us some recent same experiences.

Hey there Tatty, good to see your first post.
RE the upgrade option on a usually nonupgradeable fare (?) I have seen this from time to time, no particular pattern, but havent spent enough time in Y (or O) recently to be up to date. I suspect they just do it when the load factor is very light.

Not very helpful I know, but felt you deserved a reply!!

Thank you for your experience, Juddles!

It is very good to have a first reply to my post!! I got excited!!
I have checked the current booking situation as below.

May I ask if it is a rather light load in business class, and could be the reason of this offer?
My upgrade request (QF131 on 18 March) has not been confrimed yet.

Thank you for patiently guiding a newcomer, like me, to the right thread.

One thing I found interesting was that I was allowed to request upgrades for the other flights, SIN-MEL (N class) and NRT-SYD (O cless), as well,
although they mentioned this offer was available to Trans-Tasman flights only in their email.
By reading the previous posts, I realised that it would be possible to do so without receiving emails.

As per the thread indicated, this seems to be available for seemingly all international bookings in N, O & Q classes, not just those bookings referred to in the email.
