Hi guys ,

Wife's parents wishing to join us in a upcoming trip to Croatia. They are kinda old school and don't understand the points with US and LM so they went directly to the travel agent, and looking at $2,400+ for flights return . Must be cheaper available. I tried showing them the s7 trick to get over to mow and cut across but they simply aren't interested.

Here's what I need with min connections times . Syd - zad on July 30th (2days+/-) and then zad-syd on 11th sept (2 days +/-) .

Any savings or input would be Greatly appreciated

You're not trying very hard - in less than 2 minutes I found it for $2,100 on the exact dates you want.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What else have you tried?

If you give them a stopover in eg. SIN/KUL or somewhere in the Middle East, you could look at separate tickets SYD to stopover point, stopover point to Zag.

There's fares SIN-zag-sin for ~S$1700

Do you want them to go to Zadar or Zagreb? I could help you further, but my help will come at a cost.

They want to fly into zadar . And they don't want long connections sitting in airports with no lounge access and I don't think separate tickets are a good idea either . I gave them the s7 routing with eihad for return trip of $3100 for both then I cheapie from mow to zad still not interested . The price they are paying I can get them first class but they just won't take it . They don't understand the miles/points .

For the above poster I'm happy to pay your cost !

Unless you want to explore options such as mixed ticketing with stopover (to minimise a mis-connect) then you're stuck basically with published airfares, which will mean unless one of a few airlines (due to the lack of options into ZAD) has a killer sale, you're stuck paying around the $2500 mark.

I understand why you (your relatives) don't, but your options to reduce the price are limited if they are highly inflexible, travelling in peak season.

You may find a few other options if you look also at travel into SPU then ground transfer from there.

Thanks docjames jobs done . If you need some advice PM me for help maybe a RA certifcate .

I think they paid $2600 each with eihad. I did my best i flew around the world in F for a family of four for about the same price they paid . Even tho it was a mistake !
