Replacement Platinum Q-Tag?

How so? The tag (bar code) has to be scanned ! Unless I'm very much mistaken it's not like an electronic / chip type scan.
The machine scans the RFID chip in the Q Tag, not the barcode on it.

How so? The tag (bar code) has to be scanned ! Unless I'm very much mistaken it's not like an electronic / chip type scan.
First bag went through no problems, second bag had a soft sided bag stuffed inside with a qtag on it (legacy of a safari trip last year where we only travelled with soft sided bags, didn't even think about it). Machine immediately spat the dummy and said it had detected two tags. It must have then have recorded some information against Mr FM's FF no, as it refused to accept there weren't two tags, after we had physically removed the tag and cancelled the process a few times and restarted, until we used a different FF card. The second tag was in the middle of the case with clothes either side, so it certainly wasn't scanning it :)

Hence, unless you are intending to check bags for domestic travel the best place for these tags is in their original packaging (or on ebay :p).
