Rename Australian international Airports

Could you imagine Moody and a few other fellow thinkers going apoplectic at that idea??? :)

Do they name them in the US after the pollie who got some funding for that airport or a new terminal or something??? Unless its like a President and their home town airport perhaps...
 
Very much a fan of calling MEL Tullamarine. Tullamarine is the suburb next to the airport, which is actually in its own suburb, imaginatively named Melbourne Airport. I'm certainly not a fan of naming airports after celebrities, but I could see a use if Australian cites start having more than one major airport per city to avoid confusion. That said, there isn't much confusion between Tullamarine and Avalon at the moment.
