Yeah they de-hotspotted Sydney about a week before the ‘Qld might shut the border till September’ announcement. Go figure.
I’m guessing the rationale is that they want to limit travel, as with the 50k, 150k, 250k recreational travel restrictions. But they haven’t admitted that, starting next week, Queenslanders can travel throughout NSW as soon as the Qld limit gets them to the line. In fact from 1 June they can keep going all the way across Vic (apart from the hotspot parts of Melbourne) without Quarantine on reentry.
