The CP Canberra was used by parliamentarians and associates when Parliament was sitting. Looks like they will get a little more luxury. That’s what the Canberra times is reporting.
The press release referred to redeveloping the site, which I would interpret as knocking it down and rebuilding.I read that it is going to be demolished and rebuilt to enable the second hotel on the site.
Many don't stay in hotels, apartments or self serviced units are popular. The CP Canberra was used by parliamentarians and associates when Parliament was sitting. Looks like they will get a little more luxury.

I've never been able to get a single night stay when Parliament was sitting. I assumed that was because of occupancy. Many don't stay in hotels, apartments or self serviced units are popular.
A typo on my part - many MPs don't stay in hotels. The staffers and lobbyists is a different matter.I've never been able to get a single night stay when Parliament was sitting. I assumed that was because of occupancy.
Given their travel allowance is paid when they stay in a property they own why would they (MPs)?A typo on my part - many MPs don't stay in hotels. The staffers and lobbyists is a different matter.
They will probably sell the IC Adelaide to Accor and it will become a Sofitel!I stayed at Crowne Plaza Melbourne a couple of months ago and was pleasantly surprised by the newly renovated place. Given the current IC will become Regent in 2030, I would expect CP to go through another round of renovation to match IC's standards?
A bit disappointed to see no mention of IC Adelaide cuz that place really needs some touch-up.
I stayed at the Adelaide Sofitel during new year and it was great, except for the indoor pool, a bit small with no view. I don't think Accor will have a 2nd Sofitel in Adelaide or want to close the current one considering how new it is.They will probably sell the IC Adelaide to Accor and it will become a Sofitel!

But IC Adelaide building has that grand hotel vibe, it could be a nice home for Park Hyatt if renovated properly considering its location and view.
It's location aside, it's the best in the country!Sorry, forgot about the Adelaide Sofitel.

Do you mean IHG?Back to the future given it was a Hyatt Regency
Accor are managers not owners, the IC Adelaide is owned by Thai based TCC
Do you mean IHG?
Thanks. I had a look on-line and coukdnt get definitive information on ownership. I saw the Pro-invest were involved with Indigo, Voco and HIE.I quoted the wrong post, fixed now. IHG don’t own it (last time I checked they owned 5 hotels in the world. Both Accor and IHG deal in management rights so no selling/buying of properties

BTW IC Adelaide under went a refurb in 2021-23. Not the I noticed!
