Redemptions to Easter Island?

Hi all,
A friend of mine has moved to Buenos Aires and I am thinking it is perfect timing to explore some of South America.

I am particularly interested in LATAM's flights to Easter Island from Santiago as a possible adventurous sidetrip and was wondering if anyone knew how to price it up? I have tried the Qantas website but without luck.

Ah of course, i clearly need another cup of coffee. Do you know if there are any other tools other than the QANTAS search engine that can be used to work it out?

I think that calling the QF CCC is best for utilisation of points.
OR buy a flex Y ticket and fly on the LATAM South America and earn some QF points and QF SC, flying LATAM.

I booked Easter Island flight a couple months ago for this coming April, and if your dates are right, the fare can be quite cheap if you book via their Chilean site. For a business class return between SCL and IPC, I paid about $700 USD, and this will earn you good Status Credits on QF.

Sorry, my last blah on this thread, because of the value of QFFpints, I would not be dealing with websites that promise you that you will get a seat with an airline, for utilisation of QFF points, if its not an official QF channel.

I did this a couple of years ago and had no problems with payment, undertaking the flights or having QF SCs post automatically. You can work out the Spanish on the site well enough.

Yes, but only once a week. Tuesday I recall, the rest of the week it is SCL-IPC-SCL daily.

I went to Easter Island last year with the ticket being MEL-AKL-PPT-IPC-SCL priced just over $1,400 using expedia. As above, flight from PPT-IPC run only on Tuesday, so please search accordingly.

It is a while since I have looked at details, but as a general rule I beleive that the best way to get to IPC is doing a "domestic" trip originating in Chile. Tickets from Australia via Tahiti etc are way more expensive than getting all the way over to Santiago.

Ahem. may I suggest my TR which included SCL-IPC-PPT (and then PPT-AKL-MEL) . Relevant bits here: Patagonian cruise, circum-Andean drive and a Pacific island hop back

For the record, the last time I landed in IPC was on a 707 - that should indicate how long it was ago But plan to return soon.

You mean Chilean exit immigration? Done on Easter island - I had an execrable experience, per the TR!

Arriving with an Australian passport in SCL will set you back us$117 for a visa on arrival. I believe this is not the case when going straight to IPC via PPT.

I called to enquire about classic reward redemptions. I was advised there is no availability for October at this point in time.
