Redemption cancellation

I’m hoping someone here can help.
We have a redemption booking for 25th April SYD-DUB with SQ in J
ive been holding off cancelling, hoping they would cancel and therefore not be up for the cancellation fee. The last few days Ive received a few emails, saying my flight was cancelled, then they rescheduled it to the following day, now another email yesterday saying its cancelled, when I go online, it wont allow me to do anything (although the booking Is visible with the date being the 26/4)
Do I assume they will just credit my taxes and refund my points?
My friend had a return flight booked, same itinerary but a day later also a redemption booking, she cancelled on line a few weeks ago, her return flight was fully refunded taxes and points, however her flight over they said she would be given a credit. Does anyone know how they calculate the credit for a redemption booking?
Thanks

You and your friend really need to call Krisflyer to get this sorted - our redemption booking MRU-JNB-SIN-SYD was also cancelled (different segments at different times) - as itinerary had a *A segment (MRU_JNB) - it could not be cancelled online. Several requests via the website feedback page seem to be ignored - so called and was offered a "credit" - told agent this made no sense as we would never be able to use such a credit (ie this itinerary) - she finally agreed to re-instate points, refund taxes and waive fee. However - we're still waiting for this to happen (ie points and taxes back) - presume this will happen in due course. Also - asked fro an e-mail stating this and am still waiting for that as well (need the e-mail in order finalise a travel insurance claim).

Yes, the OP needs to call. I had an itinerary with one sector cancelled ave one still operating. I called first thing in the morning, very short wait, asked for full refund and agreed without question. But will take some time to be processed.

Note that points expirations are being extended too ( email today)

Just received this - considering up until yesterday I was still being told that my flight was cancelled but I had to pay $75pp to get my points back, this seems a step forward.

Thanks everyone, I was happy to see the email form Singapore today in regards to no charges for cancelled redemption flights. At least I can go ahead, knowing I won’t be up for the cancellation fee. I’ll get my friend to call to see if she can request the points to be refunded rather than a credit of an unknown amount. Cheers

This is great. (I tried clicking the "here" button belowe but it didn't work. ;) ) It does not specifically say no redeposit fee USD75 for points.

Has anyone had any success in cancelling via the SQ form a redemption in your spouses name?

I keep getting error messages no matter what I try.

You can either go to manage your booking, refer to the list of flights listed as cancelled on the SQ website, or try and make a booking for your flight and see if it is still listed.
sorry to be a pain, i for the life of me cannot find the list of cancelled flights

I can login, and manage booking and it still seems to be there,
but just want to double check

Is your flight bookable, if you do a normal search?

I just tried yes i can book

Jul 4th
Melbourne to hkg
Your flights probably haven’t been cancelled yet. As far as I’m aware, you will not be able to transit Singapore. If the flights don’t get cancelled closer to July, you will have to do it (unless the transit rules get relaxed)

Ok thanks, that's what i thought too

I assume the default is that if a passenger cant transit , it will auto be cancelled

I had a KrisFlyer redemption booking for travel in May. The flights are operated by Turkish Airlines and have not yet been cancelled (seats are even still available for sale), but I should now be eligible for a full refund under the updated policy.

Have filled out the online form and received an acknowledgement by email. Let's see how long it takes to process the refund...

Singapore Airlines publishes lists of cancelled flights and altered schedules, here's their one for April: Covid-19: Singapore Airlines and SilkAir Flight Schedules for April 2020, others will be published for coming months... so keep an eye out.

I wouldn't assume this as they don't know whether or not you have the right to transit/enter Singapore (for example a returning citizen).
