Hi All,

I signed up to Red Energy a while ago and received the 10,000 bonus sign on points on 8 May. No issues.

On 16 June there is an an entry on my FF Points Statement :

Tue 16 Jun 2020CANCELLED - RED ENERGY 08-MAY-2020 ON 16-JUN-2020-10,0000

I've just spent 129 minutes in the que to speak to QF FF about why this might be the case. The woman tells me that they are having some issues with red energy, puts me on hold and 10 seconds later disconnects me.

Two questions please for the group;

1. Has anybody else had similar?
2. I've no interest in sitting on hold for another 2 hours only to be hung up on again. Is there a more time efficient and effective way of getting in touch with these people?

Thanks!

I signed up in December and received 10,000 points, as well as another 1,300 in May (presumably for paying my bill). I haven't received any points deductions - but will definitely keep an eye out!

Interesting development. I've been looking at moving to Red Energy, in part because I'm annoyed with Energy Australia, and in part because the points will be nice (especially since I'm no longer earning them via flying).

Be interested to hear how you go.

That's got whiskers on it indeed. Whilst not actively considering Red Energy, will certainly not now (unless their rates are extremely low which they are not).

Also considering Red Energy - so will keep a keen eye on this thread.

kaelo, have you just spoken to QF about this? Would be interesting to see if Red Energy has any explanation about why the points were cancelled...

I also signed up to Red Energy but haven't had any points reversals. The rates seem roughly the same so I thought I might as well also get points.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I had changed over to Red Energy about three years ago, got my bonus points as well as the regular monthly points and no issues ever. When I moved over to NZ and had to cancel my account with them, there were so nice, competent and quick- I can only recommend it from my experience. And of course, Energy Australia had been so so so bad at every single interaction with them that I don't even understand why I didn't swap much earlier.

Saying all that- if they suddenly now start dodgy business and reverse bonus points, then all of the above is of course irrelevant which would be a real shame.

I'm about to sign up with Red energy. the rates seem better for a commercial property, there are no late payment fees, together with bonus points and rewards points for paying bills seems like a good offer. They charge $12.55 per meter for Electricity and $16 for gas to speed up the bonus points transfer from 6 months to 2 months. seems all good to me. however will keep you posted. Energy Aust charge late payment fees and they don' t give a cough!

Lets hope it's a glitch in the system and not Red Energy about to pull the pin on reward points entirely. It's nice points earner.

I received my Red Energy bonus points within 2-3 months from memory, maybe less. However, I signed up as soon as the bonus points system was introduced. I find their rates better than Energy Australia.

It may be easier to contact Red Energy directly in regards to this issue. I've had to do this in the past when a business hasn't credited me points.

Also, see if you can email or message Qantas as per this contact details thread:
