Looking at the website now, and it's saying available from 9am - strange since midnight was mentioned earlier, and the normal Woolies shops (not 24 hour ones) open at 7am... hope you're not still there looking coles525

Sounds like a ripoff from The Apprentice Uk (this season) where contestants had to design a ready meal and market to three of the biggest supermarkets.

Interesting idea though.

The Apprentice probably got the idea from the original Canadian cable TV production now on free to air and its in its third season with the same name as the Australian program. Our local one is a licenced franchise of the Canadian production.

The first episode was interesting but not riverting, it may need time.

Figured a thread just for talking about the show (Recipe to Riches - Channel Ten, Tuesdays 20:30) and what will make it through to store shelves and be good value (in terms of 50 points per purchase) would be a good idea.

Sorry, but does that mean that there is some form of point bonus for buy these?

If so, how many points etc, and in what time period must they be bought?

See the targeted offer thread, some people have received an email:

Recipe to Riches products mean bonus points for you

Bag 50 bonus points^ every time you buy a Recipe to Riches product in-store or online. Look out for the Recipe to Riches signs in-store and enjoy a delicious new creation each week.

^This offer has been selected especially for you and can be redeemed as many times as you like. You do not need to activate this offer before you shop, but you need to swipe your Everyday Rewards card or enter your card number at the time of purchase to qualify for your reward.

I predict the product will be in the $6-$7 bracket this week (yet to visit a WW store today).

I wish I got the email - i would have stocked up! look like the perfect hangover food.

I'm doing this from memory so check your local store for details. $5.99 was the price at my Woolworths. The product is labelled as Conchetta's Croqs if you are searching online. There was plenty of stock available but no signs for the 50 bonus points so it looks like this is a targeted offer. The pack size was around 350gms. About $17 per kg. For me personally it's not worth getting this for the bonus points. I wouldn't normally buy a product like this.

Someone has to pay for the TV show to be produced. But $6 ? Madness.

My curiosity has got the better of me, will buy a pack for lunch today, I suspect the nutritional info will indicate its my only meal for the day if I want to keep within my daily intake limit.

Marion from Masterchef sells her curry kits in Coles for almost $8-. Just because they are on TV doesn't make them "chefs", but it does mean you pay a premium for their generic stuff.

Marion has her own branding rather than coming under the "select" house brand as these do.

I thought she fell under the coles brand? Maybe im thinking of that other guy who had his products on the coles shelves for a few months...

Not interested in the show and as a promotion looks like a total waste of time.

And $5.99 for 50 points looks to be very poor value.

With it not being in serial production, but probably in a relatively small batch run, that would probably also add to the cost of the product without the scale that most other long standing products have... But yes want to be a seriously good croquette for me to want to spend that much...

Well lunch was a bit bland but otherwise OK, as expected being a snack the nutrition is hardly a star, one pack of 350g contains 10 Croqs, when eaten they provide 50% of my daily energy needs, 120% of my fat needs, 70% of my saturated fat needs, and 60% of my sodium needs, funnily enough I though they could have done with more salt.
