Hi all
Flying LAX-MEL in March, was booked as A380 with seats selected.

Now it looks like all LAX-MEL flights around my date have switched to 787. In MMB, our A380 selected seats are still shown, but next to that, 787 seats are listed (correct cabin) - why would both be showing?

I've not received any notification or a new eticket - cause for concern or no action required?

In my experience both flights can show until you accept the change? Is one set of flights slightly greyed out?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

QF doesn't tend to consider equipment changes to be something worth notifying about - unless it means the loss of one's cabin class (ie the folks in F on 380 flights downgraded will be notified). It can indeed be frustrating, specially if seats morph into less desirable ones with an equipment swap (which can, has and does happen :( ).

(one shouldn't need to, but services like ExpertFlyer help by being able to setup aircraft change and seat alerts)

Nevermind the seat change, my main concern now is parts of my itinerary vanishing due to the many schedule changes QF has been making recently. Just last week my outbound sector vanish for my CBR trip and I had to call up QF to get it sorted (thankfully it only took 8 minutes to get that resolved).

My advice to everyone is check your bookings on QF regularly and look for anomalies. QF won't tell you if their booking system drops a segment and neither did TripIt!
