I'm guessing this is to potentially sell more items for cash?

There are also bonus offers to mark the launch:
  • 6 points per dollar for cash spend for Points Club members, 9 points for Points Club Plus members (usually 3) - until 30 June
  • Bonus points for cash spend until 31 March:
    • $150 min spend - 2,000 bonus points
    • $300 min spend - 5,000 bonus points
    • $500 min spend - 10,000 bonus points
Qantas Marketplace (Australia)

Edit: It also looks like as part of the relaunch, the base rate for cash spend through the store has increased from 2 to 3 points per dollar. Discounts for PC/PC+ still remain.

This is a good move. There's been a few times when they've had a product I've wanted that I couldn't find elsewhere but I didn't want to burn points on it.

Ah, now this is the sort of thing I’m looking for to try and tip over PC+, especially if they’re giving bonus points already for PC.

Just bought a leather bag. And an anti theft one. Both branded ones. 22,000 for both inc shipping. Works for me. Just gone back into the store and the points required now has increased on both. 🤷‍♀️

I had a look. Is there anything that is good value to buy at the Marketplace? I couldn't find it.
Bought a Mac book recently. It was essentially the same as buying from Apple directly, just with bonus points. A no brainer.

I just hope this doesn't turn into a free-for-all with third party sellers etc. This seems to be a theme with everyone wanting to get into the game - Woolworths launched a similar store ("Everyday Market"). Over time, these stores end up with low-quality imports with little differentiation and brand names that change from month to month - like Amazon has become. Some big chains in the US are doing this too, notably Walmart. It in my mind hugely devalues the brand name - at least with the core supermarket you can assume a certain level of quality and easily return it if not, but with the marketplace they just wash their hands of it and tell you to contact the 3P seller.

Like Amazon now is.

Which is pretty much how hotels / rental cars / insurance etc work.

Not sure if this applies to other tiers, but Gold members can now also get free shipping on top of all of the above incentives until 26 March. Seems like they're pushing this hard.

I actually find it difficult to navigate the Qantas website through to Marketplace, most of the time I end up on Qantas Shopping and have to backtrack.
@chrispy3276 where's the free shipping mentioned?

I imagine they're not getting huge traction. Even with PC+ getting 9x points and the bonus, the prices are high (or RRP) where many other places have similar items on much bigger discounts.

Has anyone who has bought from Marketplace received points? I got a set of airpods as the price was the same as everywhere else and it was worth the bonus points - but nothing has posted to my account and the purchase was a little while ago. Not sure if this is standard or I should find where to raise a complaint.
The wine store is almost always instantaneous.

I haven't gotten mine yet despite purchasing a couple of weeks ago. Not in any rush though.
