I have these boxes installed on my tv's at home, on all tv's, connected to all media, & yep, you just press the button to say who's watching & thats about all you have to do, as its wired into all devices. nielsen tv ratings.

Could I ask you a quick favour danny09 ? Would you be able to stop watching stuff like The Block/Big Brother/The Voice/The Bachelor/The Biggest Loser and Dancing with The Stars? Thanks very much,

Yours sincererly

That's the one! Thanks for the update on how it works!

Just watched the first ep on jumpin, left me quite underwhelmed and probably won't watch any furthers episodes.

The two things I learned from the show were:

1) NEVER tell an airline if I have a medical issue as they don't care whether my doctor has cleared me to fly or not.

2) If I'm unhappy with the service, jump up and down and make as much noise as possible, even threaten to sue and then I'll get an upgrade to First class.

I have a problem with the QF medical advice from Sydney. The person's doctor has cleared him to fly...the "doctor" in Sydney has not seen / examined the person, and asking the person to sit in a chair for x hours to prove he is fit to fly is ridiculous!!

It wasn't bad but yes some big differences but the average punter would not even see it.

Like F class from PER to MEL... LOL

I do wonder how much editorial control QF has over this process. Generally you'd put everything you have into the pilot episode and I wonder how interesting average TV viewer found this.

I was told at LRE on Sat that this was actually meant to be Episode 2. Switched around due to the Wallabies being in it. Original episode 1 airing this Friday.

More or less my thoughts. I'll keep watching at least for the next few weeks though in case it does get more interesting.

To the best of my knowlege, Fly Ahead is a scheme VA offer to SG & WP where they can take an earlier flight if they are travelling HLO and if the same fare bucket is available.
Hand luggage only is irrelevant. I have used fly ahead many times and I have checked luggage most times. In fact the lounge staff have also pro-actively moved me to earlier flight with checked luggage. Not sure why Qantas has the checked luggage restriction when they flow forward.

I recall being offered this a few times even as a NB QP. I once asked if things were on time. Next thing I knew I was changed to an earlier flight as mine was running late. I think once they did it just cause I turned up early enough to catch the previous flight with luggage.
This was about 5+ years ago. Hasn't happened in ages for me even with delays.

+1.
I would say the channel 9, don't have the finesse of putting together a documentary series like the BBC or Discovery Channel does.

I wonder if Kate Cebrano will get an appearance..... Wearing "shoes" in the lounge?

Maybe we should have a thread Expected celebrities in Qantas new ad on 9 HD?
Shareholders this is where your profits are being spent... Marketing department brilliant idea?

I just finished watching the first ep.

The idea is great. The intention is there for a great show.

But the editing is just woeful.

Tug driver is pushing a 737, show an A330.
Wallabies getting onto an A380, cut to a 737.
Initial cut of sim check made to look like it was in Sydney, then the second cut was in Melbourne.

Seriously, Red Roo, need someone with clue over the shoulder of the Channel 9 muppets cutting the scenes to make sure they do the right thing.

Also, they're slicing and dicing some of the things a little too much to hit the time slot, it doesn't tell a good story. The bit in the sim with the pilot was pruned far too much.

It has potential, but lots of room for improvement.

I really quite enjoyed it. Very similar to the BA one.
I'm not too hung up on the editing with different aircraft types. I have to stop myself from harshly criticizing every slight medical error on shows or it spoils my enjoyment of the drama. This is similar. The average viewer won't notice these things.

Bit of an advertorial for QF but a very pleasant one at that. Looking forward to the next installment :)
