I had a recent flight out of SIN T3, and I saw firsthand, the reactions on the SQ KF lounge policy for guests, not on the same flight.
Not only was it public, but it looked like SQ were annoying some of their best customers. Travelling as a VA GL customer, I'd forgotten about this recent change.
In Summary, if the guest you want to bring into the SQ lounge isn't on the same flight as you, they aren't allowed in.
I've always felt that allowing a guest ensures better personal travel especially with business colleagues but also a great advertisement for the airline for prospective customers. I couldn't see a previous thread on this, but I remember reading about this somewhere at the time when it was announced.
I walked up the wrong escalator and when to the silverkris desk. No issue, just down the hall sir. But there were two groups each complaining that their guest (all who were in J as well) couldn't be guested in with their colleague. And I'd say they are DYKWIA types as well.
Down at the gold lounge there was a delay getting to the desk, as another 4 groups were having the same issue.
I'm sure it looked good in a SQ spreadsheet, but I can't see this being great for customer retention. I wonder if this will last. Or more importantly, copied....
QQ. If I'm a VA GL and turn up with a guest on a different flight, does the VA policy apply or the SQ policy?
