Quick Q re cancellinga a QF award booking

If I book 5x pax on a QF award booking under one PNR, and one of the pax subsequently can"t make the trip, can QF just cancel that partic. pax for the standard 5000 QF points cancellation fee (and return the taxes / surcharges), and keep the rest of the booking for the other 4 pax?

They will generally split the booking into two, one with 4 PAX, the other with 1 PAX.

The 1 PAX booking then gets cancelled with appropriate refunds based on that PNR.
