Hi, my first post so hope I am in the right place

We are planning a trip to Europe on Emirates First Class using Qantas FF points next year. It looks like we will have a 9 hour layover in Dubai. Is there any restriction on how many hours prior to your flight we can go into Emirates First Class lounge please?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi @Anzac65 and welcome to AFF :)

There's no time restriction on using the Emirates First Lounges as long as you're not there for three days ;)

The Concourse A lounge, the newest, doesn't have cabanas or resting rooms but there is a quiet zone if you need a rest. The space itself is cavernous and it is possible to find areas with little footfall. I've not used the showers there and Mrs 340 isn't a fan as they can get very humid. As you're hoping to travel in First and if you're on the A380s then maybe a shower onboard before and/or after departure would be preferable.

Hi,
I have a further question about EK DXB First Class Lounge. I am flying MEL-DXB-DUB in EK First Class with lengthy stopover each way. Does DXB First Class Lounge has any kind of luggage locker facilities? So I can store my hand luggage in the lockers while I go walk about and explore terminal/lounge.

Thanks,
Joey

I’m not sure but given the way they look after first class guests I’m sure they’d almost allocate a staff member to babysit it. Let us know how you go for feedback.

I will be there in 18 hours so will let you know!

Are you eligible for Dubai Connect ?
Don't think so. I will be arriving on EK162 and using EK406 rather than EK404 or EK408. It would appear Dubai Connect is for connections greater than 9 hours if there are no other immediate flights/seats available.

Thanks!! I am looking forward to your on-the-ground report on this.

It is interesting if I book MEL-DXB-DUB F on EK the fare is around ~$15K, whilst the same flight on QF (Codeshare) is ~$12K. I wonder what are the catches!!

This will be my first ever flight with EK switching from SQ.

Hi, my wife and I spent a lovely 4 hours in the FC lounge late last year. I asked the same question and the response was that "For security reasons they do not offer luggage storage areas". In saying that I did not presume to ask someone to watch my bags. My wife and I just took turns looking around. Make sure to try all the amenities. They are simply excellent.

Wayne.
