Yes you can. Can't walk you through the process without more detail of where you are getting to.
However after you select the flights you should get to the passenger information page where you can enter his details.
Happy to help further if you get stuck, provided you give some more details!

Thanks so much for your reply and offer of help. Its between brisbane and adelaide but cant even contact him atm to confirm things. When I checked previously I just saw ëxpress checkout" so I assumed that would have just been for me - but later I saw " continue" at the bottom so I presume if I go through that I can change the name later on. cheers!

Yes don't use Express Checkout!
Use "Continue"!

Just an idea:

You can always transfer the points to your nephew (as a family member) and let them do the booking, etc. Could be a tidy way to do it. They just need to have a QFF account. Means they can deal with all the bits and pieces and take responsibility.

But if it is a case where you are the frequent traveller (hence having the points) and they are not (so they are inexperienced in bookings, etc), then you can certainly just do it yourself, as per the advice from previous posters..

I am pretty sure you can name change a flight with QF but there may be associated fees or points charges.

As far as I can tell the OP hasn't actually made a booking yet.
So they don't need to change names.
They just went to "Express Checkout" which autofilled their details from their QFF account prior to payment.
Now they know to use "Continue" instead and that will give them the opportunity to input their nephew's name.

I wasn’t able to even correct my name so it’s not something I’d risk.
That is interesting I have name changed flights both revenue and rewards with QF on QF metal. OT I discovered the hard way earlier this year that QF reward bookings on EK that name changes with EK are not possible.

No I havent made the booking yet, so no need to change names so thats all good. Thanks, I was aware could transfer points, but as suggested, I dont think he has a ff account and not experienced in making bookings so I will have a go tomorrow. Thanks again.

Yep, name changes are permitted on domestic tickets but not international.
Are you 100% sure for the international. I think you can name change QF flights/ QF operated international reward flights however you cannot name change QF flights/ QF operated international revenue flights. I may be wrong however it is how I discovered the EK restriction, QF flight but EK operated.

If you are booking from inside your log-in, you will be the nominated PAX arranger,

I have booked many flights for my kids this way, I noticed this gives you liberty to put whatever contact details you like, including your phone number and email address.

As long as you stick his right name (as per proof of ID) on the tic but please note same day no mistake policy

The easiest way is just to transfer the points if he has a QFF account and then he does it himself...nice and clean.

Mine was an international reward flight and wasn’t able to change my name. Operator just couldn’t seem to do it.
