With all these similar Avatars (wherever that work means), I had to find something a little different so I could identify my posts more quickly :D .

av·a·tar ( P ) Pronunciation Key (v-tär)
n.
•The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.
•An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning.
•A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar. ...
•An image representing a user in a multi-user virtual reality space.
So I guess one's chosen Avatar reflects one's incarnanation, embodiment, manifestation or aspect in the multi-user virtual reality space otherwise known as AFF!

:D :D

But only if one is a Hindu deity, and sadly I am not. But some would suggest the animal form may be a partial truth :p .

Looks like it has been relinquished already.

Noble deed Sir Lindsay to allow NM his distinguishable avatar back.

There are other avatars Sir Lindsay.
Being a gentleman, when I realised the conundrum I created for NM, I took the only decision I could make in that scenario...I found another one! For the interim, I had a "Help" one there to tide me over for about an hour until I found the "right" one for me.

Hmmm, all this talk of avatars - is mine different enough?
You're alwayd unique, Dave  .

I can edit the image to make it fit. I wouldn't mind a DJ avatar myself!
Was sent it expressly to pass onto dOOt, so it's his first choice as to whether he wants to use it. As he has a perfectly good one, he could email it to you. His decision, not mine.

Now I have a dilemma ... do I stick with the 787 or revert back to the Plat card??? Oh the problems you guys create for me
Sorry, NM, I didn't mean to put you in that position. But I'll stick with the one I've got now - very happy with it. Your decision as to whether to revert back.

I like the QF Twin-Tail, Lindsay. When I first used the Plat Card I was looking for a simple QF Roo Tail, but could not find one suitable and found the card instead. That one of yours looks very much like the one news.com.au often use on the web news stories
Thanks NM, spent some time finding one that suited me and fitted the constraints of size and shape. Found it on the QF website, so it probably is the ones that news.com.au use.

I thought that given my name on FT, this one embodies both and when we're allowed avatars over on FT, I can use it across both.

Dave
Dave, yours has become etched in my mind as my image of you. It is perfect.

OK -I realised mine was completely inadequate and I have found one I am quite pleased with. Matter of fact I need one now.....

For those fans of the Qantas LCC, here is a nice avatar:

Shouldn't you be using this?

Oh my. Look at what we have created. Everyone and their dog wants an avatar and has to be original.

I quite liked the interim one you had with HELP and the hammer and spanner. :p

Not true! My dog would not want an avatar, if I had a dog! :D

I was working on an image of all my QFF/QP cards from over the years, but could not get in under the size limit with any legibility... :?

Can we at least let the dog decide if it wants and avatar or not. That is if you had a dog. :D

I think this'll be good for the Board. Now we all have visual personalities to go along with our posts.

Found it on my computer at home and thought it was good for an interim attempt. Hell, I'd never looked at adding an avatar until last night (and it wasn't as difficult as I imagined, other than finding one within specifications).

Now that was an origina idea. I'd have the same problem (a third black, gold and silver - would look more like a quilt!).

So someone with a multi personality disorder would need multiple avatars depending on which personality is dominating at the time. Only problem with AFF software is that when you change the avatar all posts are changed to the new avatar.

Bad news for people with multi personality disorder is that they won't remember which personality was posting at the time. :?

If this is defining our personalities, I think I'm going to have to find a new one.

Are you going to find a new avatar or a new personality.

Good question. Some people say I could do with both! :D

I love this forum :D .

Our capacity to go OT and then some is simply amazing. You just never know what is going to be discussed when you open a thread.

It's a wonderful little meander :D :D :D

I wonder what is the greatest number of different topics covered in a single thread (just to go even more OT).

Am I the only boring person here without an avatar :?:

I guess I'll have to sit down and work out how to set one up one day soon. (Still looking for something original)

Couldn't have said it better, MetroAir - it just takes a comment from one poster to change a threads tack.

Now if I were to mention the word "bus" :D
