Quite often (I can't promise of course). Many Middle East carriers have special sales from various EU ports. I use them often, but you never know if they might stop.

Not likely. Fewer Norwegians willing to pay $$$ to come to Aus than Australians to go to Europe

Though if I was back in UK it would be well worth the short flight to OSL

No. THis is another example of the Aussie rip-off tax. We pay a lot more for premium airfares here than they do ex Europe.

The cheapest I have seen a Tier-1 or 2 carrier here is about $4700 for Finnair business class return to Europe. Tier-3 carriers are cheaper on occasion (for example Viet Nam Airlines can be sub-$4000).

For Aussies to take advantage you either need to make yuor own way to Asia and pick up business class from there (starting at $2000 return), or use points to get one-way to Europe and nest return tickets from there.

Yes, just purchased BKK-FCO-BKK in J on UL for $2079. Quite happy with that, as I've flown UL J class several times and it's not bad IMHO.

Departing soon? It's rumoured UL is cancelling all Euro services save for LHR. So keep an eye on your booking if it's well into next year (although I suspect they will protect you on services to London.)

Well I haven't committed myself to anything else on this trip at the moment, so I'll just wait and see.. The worst that can happen is that I get a full refund. Pays to remain flexible.

From what I have seen, U.S. to Oz is way more than Oz to U.S. And other way round for Europe and Asia. We got rewards all the way to Vancouver but is cheaper to come back to Oz via Europe than direct. Insane.

I managed to get the $2k SFO-JFK-LHR-OSL mistake fare (SFO-JFK in F). This trip above(through to BNE and back) will end up with the kids being Platinum in AA (63792 EQM).

We are doing Disney World after my meetings in SFO. Hoping they run another YUP deal from central america now they have the 777 LAX to SYD or something I can use my SWU's on. The kid's dancing school is performing at Disney Land in September so we will be back then. That should get the kids to EXP.
