QR and ET - forced into separate tickets

I am helping to organise flights for some mine workers flying from Australia through DOH to FRA and ADD, and also flights for people going home from ADD to DOH then BNE. We did have bookings lined up that would have been booked all through QR but those flights were cancelled only yesterday and our only option was to book FRA-ADD and ADD-DOH connections through ET - so therefore Separate Tickets. We were forced into this because we are also organising a private charter which links up with their arrival - so we thought we were safe and paid for the charter 😟. I need to ask if there is anything I can do so that our employees luggage can be checked all the way through and maybe even boarding passes issued. I don't think there is access to either Germany or Qatar for them to collect luggage and check in due to COVID-19 restrictions in these countries even though normally they wouldn't have any issues. Any Ideas? I think we would be happy to pay extra.

Perhaps give them a call? Separate tickets is going to make it harder, but Qatar is one of those airlines that is more generous with inerlining bags.

If you are flying ET anyway, have you considered taking them straight out of Bangkok non-stop to Addis? ET is resuming flights ex BKK from 1 July and it could shave 12-14 hours or more of the total travel time (connect with SQ from BKK to/from Australia)
