QR A350 with Q suites or A380?

Hoping to fly with QR SYD-DOH and then onto Athens.
Should I go with the A350 and Q suites that arrives in DOH around midnight and an 8 hour transit time or the overnight A380 that arrives around 5:00am.

Hoping for an award flight so will take either but if both are available which should I choose ?

We are not seasoned travellers at the front of the plane, so the A350 in the afternoon is appealing but the 8hour transit is not.

What would you do??

I'd do QR Qsuites every time. I've done a 8 hour layovers in DOH. Once in the lounge which was a bit of a drag, but you could also go visa freee landside and do a quick tour of the city.

Could always take the A350 out of ADL which is getting the Qsuites in August and gets into DOH around 0600

ADL-DOH QR seat maps seem to have reverted to non Q suites from late March next year onwards....

Qsuites every time. Also, the timing of that flight spanning a natural dinner time is an added bonus IMO.

If you are travelling in J on QR, you are entitled to use the Business arrival lounge in the passport control area which has dedicated passport control desks. That will have you landside in moments instead of joining what can be a quite long queue. That will enable you to do a tour of Doha.

Turn hard left as you enter the passport control area and you'll see the lounge at the end.

Yeah, I saw this recently and was wondering when it might finish


“Qatar Airways has scheduled a QSuite equipped Airbus A350-900 to operate its daily service between Doha and Adelaide from 15 August 2019 (first QSuite service out of Adelaide will be on 16 August).
Here’s the currently published schedule:
QR914 DOH 20:35 – 16:20+1 day ADL (Daily)
QR915 ADL 22:15 – 05:30+1 day DOH (Daily)
As things stand the Doha – Adelaide route is scheduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin through to the end of the current booking period.
