I like the ADL desk staff!
Sure, first few times I went through, I'd stop and they'd ask for my BP or card. Then they'd scan the card and wait for the green light. After that, I soon learned that a simple wave of the card and a "Good Afternoon" was all that was required.
What I *really* like about the staff is that no request seems to be too much trouble: Mobile Check-IN fails on the way to the airport - quick check at the desk; travelling with a colleague sat at the back of the bus - request to get sat together is accommodated (with sometimes much pondering of the seat maps and a couple of calls). Every request - so far - met with a smile and a "can-do" attitiude.
So, to answer the OD's question (that's "Old Dog"!!): no, I don't think they've become stricter of late, just done what they've always done.
