Currently looking at a CX flight from SFO-HKG. An AA codeshare is available for roughly the same price, but having not taken any codeshares previously, I have a couple of questions.

Being QP, would this entitle me to AA lounge access at SFO?

Apart from extra points earn on AA, are there any other benefits or risks in being on the codeshare rather than the CX flight number?

Thanks again, dejium

I believe you would Not ordinarily have access: (Discover the benefits of The Qantas Club)
Partner Lounges
When travelling with American Airlines, as a Qantas Club member you and a guest are welcome at American Airlines Admirals Club lounges. Simply present your Qantas Club card together with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. Both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a flight marketed^ and operated by the partner airline whose lounge you wish to visit.

Be sure to check that the specific AA fare class purchased is one listed under the QFF scheme as eligible for points and/or SC earning.

Thanks for the heads up - I'll look further into the earning classes and make my decision that way. Cheers
