New to QP membership and didn't find an answer to my exact question in my search of other threads.

I'm dropping my elderly grandmother off for her QF flight in a couple of weeks. Is there any chance of QF allowing her (my guest) and I into the QP if she is the one travelling?

Appreciative of any advice. I usually fly VA...

All I can say is you could be lucky but I would not hold my breath. With VA the answer would normally be yes.

No, membership states you need to be the one travelling first and foremost.

That said, as a WP I have done the right thing on at least a couple occasions, buying a throw away JQ cheap fare and thus having access for myself, and guest. Then not taking the flight. If you're lucky, there may even be a Tiger fare you can price match against!

You can try your luck. I did it once as a newly minted SG when the QP was quite empty, my cousin was the one flying and I was dropping him off at the airport. Asked nicely at the desk and acknowledged that I was trying to go against the rules. Luck of the draw I guess (or more so how empty the lounge is).

Or as samh004 said, buy a cheap JQ ticket and throw it away.

buy a full rate biz class fair and then get full refund?

I've actually done similar, gave my sister a QP pass to get in, and then asked if I could also stop in and wait with her, acknowledging she can't guest off the pass and I'm not flying, but that I do have status, and they let me just that once.

But I'm not usually one for taking advantage of the rules, and I don't see throwing away a JQ fare as taking advantage, as there is spend, as oppose to a freebie.
