QFF Website makeover [Frequent Flyer Page]

For a web site frequent critic, I'm OK with it (the errors, broken links etc are now expected - ho hum).

But as a Plat (with no hope or intention of P1), why under "your offers" does it have "Listing new benefits for Platinum One members". Are they trying to tell me something :) ?

I'm viewing at 8:30pm in Central US - and its wishing me Good Afternoon. Wonder if its fixed to the time of my account address (and therefore assumes I never travel far ;) ) or do they count night as Afternoon? Any other time zone anomalies noted?

The wheel thing - done by Air Canada 'Altitude' couple of years ago:

That would indicate you are using an APP as I see that redirect with my Galaxy.

It works fine on my XP desktop with the links being as indicated: Frequent Flyer

What's an APP? I'm using Chrome in Win7. I just assumed it was an AFF thing (the go.redirectingat.com thing). (I got the screen shot by pressing Print Screen as it jumped between that url and the 404 error page.)

I guess I'm not suggesting there's anything you can do about it serfty, just more if other people are getting the same error, they just have to remove the end part of the address, which the redirection path seems to be appending unnecessarily.

It just wished me a 'Good Morning'. That's good enough for me.
VA always welcomes me with 'Hi aaflyer' (where aaflyer is my actual prefered name, not my real name). QF don't appear to have an option to set 'prefered name' anywhere that I have found.

Well I like it. The points calculator, the "wheel of time" for requalify, the QF marketed points counter, the appropriate res/service team (P1 for me) numbers displayed it's very neat and everything I use on a regular basis there in a nice place. On first glance it seems pretty good!

This bug has existed since before the page revamp. My last BA booking continued to appear with a random future departure date, even though I had already completed the flights.

This is actually not a QF bug at all. It's a BA bug.

BA has a habit of adding a dummy sector at the end of a PNR. This dummy sector usually has a date around 3 months after your last real sector. As such your PNR remains alive for 3 months after your last real sector + 4 days on top of that.

I like the comparison of SC earn vs how long is left during the year. Do wish they would fix the upgrade calc though.

The number of times you find incorrect information, poor copy paste jobs, general errors.. It's genuinely amazing. If their internal staff can't pull it together, they should just hire a consulting company to sit down and review each page with them, where it should go, the info on it.. Honestly, it's downright embarrassing.

Also - there are a good half dozen different fonts in use. They came so close with Proxima Nova family.. Should have stayed to the original, none of that horrible condensed rubbish. Here's the same page using the one standardised Proxima Nova font(except the promo join qff image).

Beautiful.

Putting on my hat with 4 decades of IT experience I reckon have found the problem!

Back to school for the IT guys who appear to have assumed an account with 0 current SC's isn't interested in them and/or needs to learn more about them by being pointed to a page describing status benefits rather than actually showing real information (not withstanding they may already have a LT balance of over 28,000 and it's 5 days into a new "year"):...
Ok, i have worked it out!

Qantas vaunted IT are scared of NaN!

It's nice to have little circle graphs of things but such needs ratios to be calculated - division is essential - and the poor things appear to have avoided dealing with 0 values in computations rather than actually be real software engineers and make programmatic allowance.

I also have one BA flight and two Air Berlin flights, all travelled in October already, showing up as future January bookings. But, these have been showing for the last 10 days, so don't think it relates to today's new update.

I had an AB phantom entry hang around for about three months after a flight last year.

It's a good thing Qantas IT don't do the programming for their planes is all I can say.

Fascinating. I wonder why BA does that. Thanks for the info :)

I still have a BA PNR kicking around from September 2013. The one from May 2013 has only gone from my list in the last month or two.

I'm a complete IT Luddite so this may be impossible - but it would be lovely if QF could somehow get JQ bookings (made on the JQ site with JQ codes) to show up in the my bookings page.

Im no IT guru but I like it. One of the good things is I can now cancel paper statements as my lifetime SCs are available.

It just wished me a 'Good Morning'. That's good enough for me.

It did for me too - except it's 10.30 at night.

And it has wished me 'Good Morning' at 1950hrs in Vienna. My laptop has the local time - can't the website inspect that for the relevant greeting?

The account summary page has gone. The login* page does not show all the info that used to be on the summary~. Retrograde step QF.

If you click on the home button (i.e. the QF logo top left) you get the original home page. Clicking on "I want to ... " drop down box and "View my Summary" takes you to the login* page.

QF - Can we please have a checkbox to click to remember that we have checked the "remember me" check box?

*The page that opens when you login.

~E.g. how many SC required for the next LT level.

+Think about it!

My points balance is incorrect......

and now its only 143K - extremely disappointed Qantas!!!

I can't even say that number. In words, how many points was that? Lol.

(Yes but you can employ some competent IT people who don't stuff up the web page all the time) ;)
