Guys

I traveled to South Africa in October 2012 economy class and earned 80 status credits as a result.

I again traveled to South Africa early in Feb 2013 but flew on a partner airline, South African airways so am waiting on the points and status credits to hit my account.

But I just had a look at my account and it says that my 80 status credits have expired on 28 Feb 2013. Is this normal? Do they normally reset at a certain date no matter when you travel?

Thanks guys.

Your Status Credits are reset at the end of your membership year, which in your case is Feb 28.

I would say you joined QFF in a February.

This is quite normal and from when you joined your SC tally will always reset at the end of Feb - this year the 28th, last year the 29th.

Probably lucky that my partner airline points havent come through yet but I am assuming I wont get my 80 status credits from that flight because I traveled prior to 28 Feb 2013.

They will credit in the status year that you travelled so wont help with qualification for the year ending 28 Feb 2014. They will however count towards your lifetime total SCs.

As mentioned, it's a yearly thing. I had to weep a little when my reset:

It's a regular sob each year on the 28th! :)

With you on that. I had all but planned how I was going to get Silver this year but now have to come up with another plan. Maybe do a status run or something..

I had quite a big weep this year :(

Not only did you have around 3x the SC's you also had around 3x the petrol points.

I have major amounts of catch-up to do (that said, I have to maintain VA WP, QF WP and TK *G, which I am actually managing to do at present).

Was this a QF or SA flight number ?

What are you filling up, a road train?!?!
With the current 4 points per litre promo, that's around 395L of fuel, so if you have the little keychain EDR cards for the entire family, it mounts up (and if you have 4WD's, there's an easy 100L per car for some of them!).
