Ok, I am a QF Gold and my renewal is up on 31 August this year.....by this date I will be around 200 SC short of Platinum....in the calendar year would of done 41 flight sectors with 21 of these being Y flexi fares.....don't know whether this has happened or chances lol...but with a number of forward bookings with them after 31 Aug what's he chances of getting platinum with being short? :)

Not likely that you get bumped up. If you had been WP for several years and had fallen short of requal is a different story.

Extremely unlikely

Both VA and QF are unlikely to give you a status you haven't earned, but if you already have it and are short re-qualifying there's a chance. If you think it'll be useful to you in the next membership year, you'll just have to fly the remaining SC... and 200 short is quite a gap anyway. Usually I've heard of them comping a requal when you're 10 short... ;)

ADL - MEL - AKL and back, all in J first, then F on EK metal with a QF flight no, if you want to spend/can spend $1240 x 2=$2480 and an overnight in AKL.
You could also do ADL - SYD - AKL and return.
If money was not a problem, I would do it, if I were in your shoes.
ADL to the east coast in J will be 40 SC one way, and 120 SC one way from east coast to NZ in F.
Not cheap, but at least you would know you have by after the flights, made it to WP.

Chances of being comped Platinum status are slim if you are not already Platinum.

If you have forward bookings is it worth doing some extra flights before 31 August to attain Platinum status?

Two chances of being comped, Buckley's and Nunn.

Do a quick J* Business trip to BKK/SIN etc buying the Max package.
