QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

2 Business reward requests on QF29 MEL-HKG on 11 December and QF30 HKG-MEL on 25 December both rejected by the droid.

Sent to P1 for manual review and both confirmed within an hour.

It is the best perk of P1 imo and having one in the family.
Yes - I've found it impossible as a WP to get J seats on QF30 released - I'm happy to fly in Y for daylight flights so am now using CX163 as the return leg.

Also got rejected just a few minutes ago

Single seat

30 Jun MEL HKG QF29 I3 Success

10 Jul HND SYD QF60 I4 Fail
11 Jul HKG MEL QF30 I4 Fail
10 Jul HKG SYD QF128 I7 Success
11 Jul HND SYD QF26 I7 Fail
You did well to get a QF128 J seat released!

VIP team basically said that P1 Manual reviews for QF29 and QF30 are guaranteed when there are sale fares available.

Basically, not looking forward to no more manual reviews after the end of the year but know how fortunate I have been.

Nice! I can't see myself ever making P1 unfortunately.
neither lol, my mum made P1 11 years ago and kept it with work and got to Lifetime Platinum. I use work to maintain platinum but now that she is retired 3600 status credits are too much even using double status promos.

Denials on all the below. All showed at least I2, some up to I9...

QF128 - 15th, 16th, 17th June
QF26 - 16th, 17th, 18th June
QF292 - 17th June
QF2 - 18th June (For F, showing A6)

Agent even offered alternatives via Melbourne from both HK and TYO. No dice. Got over it, decided to tag on a couple of days in Seoul and found reasonable ANA flights home from there back through Tokyo... Lucky partner awards in Asia are quite easy to come by so I can at least use some points.

Chasing x2 J seats QF33 SYD-PER Oct 1 on the 787 service - declined.

Then called back trying for x2 J on QF 775 MEL-PER early PM on the same day, also declined.

Was offered and accepted x2 J on QF 765 late in the afternoon, plus a pair SYD-MEL early afternoon.

Damn usually June isn't that busy. Would've suggested you redeem a Y and sit around waiting for NH J to open up if theres no dice asking QF every other week.

I've just made WP for the first time ever (30 years into my relationship with QF) and thought I would give this a go...

I requested 2 U or 2 Z seats on QF11 SYD-LAX for 3rd July 2025.

Expert Flyer was showing decent inventory for this flight F9 A7 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O8 X0 E0

Computer said No to Business (despite the I9) but it did release 2 x Premium Economy seats (with T9) to me. I *think* that I may have got through to HBA on my first attempt as WP (gasp!) ... I had an English chap on the other end of the line, who knew exactly what he was doing, was able to transform my existing CR booking from 2 X seats to 2 Z seats, deducted the extra QFF points (including change fee), and confirmed and ticketed the new Z class CR booking within 10 minutes of me calling.

If only it was always so easy :)

Well done!

As an aside I’ve found it easier to release F seats than J in recent months, with A7 that would be worth a go!
