QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Just tried a heap of different date combos on QF1, QF5, QF33 and QF 9 to get to Europe in mid-September 2026 with no luck - all unsuccessful.

I'm wondering if the system blocks seat releases for these peak periods?

Plan B is positioning to CGK on QF and then going with Qatar in J

Generally yes, releases to Europe during peak periods are completely blocked (both for WP and P1 manual reviews too)

Plan B sounds smart. ex MNL, SIN, BKK, DPS are also worth investigating.

CGK is generally less points and good availability. But does mean staying over in CGK. At least it’s very cheap!

Yes I've also been exploring that option - so QF or CX to HKG then a partner airline from there?

SYD-HKG and CDG-HKG-SYD I had no trouble finding a classic flight reward.
I might have to pay cash for HKG-SYD but I still have a lot of time to search
