Hi Guys,

Besides the lounge access, does BA give QFF with status any special treatment like higher chance of OP-UPs or just the same as other PAX?

Seat counter is down....can someone with access please check what is the likelihood for an OP-UP.

4/10/10 SYD to LHR BA 016

18/4/10 LHR to HKG BA027

21/8/10 HKG to SYD QF128

Thanks!

QF gold it not that special
Seat counter is not an indication of seats SOLD, only seats allocated
Expect to sit in the seat you paid for

Don't know about upgrades but from the BA website you can allocate yourself some pretty good seats. I managed to get some exit rows at no additional cost which I thought was a really good bonus.

One benefit BA offers to all OneWorld Sapphire members is reselection of seats. I think this may still be dependent on fare class paid, so the cheapest seats may not allow this benefit.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

QF Gold will allow you to board early, which is especially important on those flights across to Europe, like USA everyone takes on the kitchen sink.

At the airport you can usually pick up a good seat on check in, you need to use a machine before you can approach the staff who will place a tag on your bag and check your passport.

I traveled with my brother last year across to Amsterdam from Gatwick and I was able to get Row 4, and my brother was able to get an exit row.

I had originally been allocated seats in Row 21E, thanks BA NOT. :p

As others have advised, nothing special, but I do like the seat selection on other carriers. I'll be using it next year (but there isn't a bad seat in Business)

I have had two op-ups from BA flying LAX-LHR in the last 12 months
so perhaps it is possible that QF status can influence an op-up on BA
I am QF Platinum

I fly at least twice every year to Singapore on the BA metal. Almost everytime I have been Upgraded at least on 1 direction. On checking with teh ground staff.. this is due to the recognition of the OW-Sapphire status.. Last week on the way up my colleagure got Uped (He is Q-Platinum) and I got Uped on the way back.. (I am SG)

so in my experience it does work..

However, if there was a BA - OW Sapphire and me.. I guess BA will get preference..
