Hi guys

I currently have a woolies QFF credit card, but I need a card purely for my business.

Unfortunately the woolies card doesn't give QFF points for business expenses - eg paying the government, banks, etc etc. Its hidden in their T&Cs.

Does anyone know a good non-AMEX credit card which I use and get QFF points for business expenses?

The best I have found so far is the Investec one, which also comes with complimetary priority pass.

The platinum reserve AMEX is great with heaps of bonus features, but AMEX is not accepted for a lot of what I need to do.

I'd be happy to pay an annual fee up to $400. If possible I'd like QFF points and complimentary priority pass membership.

Thanks!

THanks, but the first citibank card you recommended isn't linked to QFF but citibank points instead.

The second card specifically lists 'business expenses' as an exclusion criteria for points.

I will be hitting this card with about $100,000 of business expenses so its not something I can hide...

I have seen some people recommend the CitiBusiness Gold card. I was thinking of getting this and an AMEX which has priority pass...any suggestions?

The first one is linked... "Earn 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent on eligible purchases (automatically transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts each month). A $49 annual Citibank Qantas Rewards fee applies[SUP]2[/SUP]"
But yeah it does cost a bit more.

I'm not entirely sure of use for business though..sorry!

Citibusiness Gold is a great card I reckon.

Dining program is worth checking out too - free bottle of wine at a number of restaurants and 3x bonus points. From recollection points cap is 250k. Earn rate is 1.25 QFF points per dollar. Only downside is that you have to call up and transfer manually the points from CB to QF (in blocks of 10k).

I was pretty pleased to dump my Amex cards to be frank, with lower acceptance and continually changing T&Cs.

This, Get the Citibusiness Gold, 1.25 QFFpts per $, and then in a year, ask them for a 2pts per $ bonus offer (I'm making 3.25pts per $ (srs))

I just got off the phone with the CitiBank rep -

Paying taxes does NOT accrue points.

It is not in the T&C of the card, but in the T&C of the citibank rewards program, which they sneakily do not provide online - but comes in the mail with the card.

I really need to have a card which accrues points when I pay my taxes...so Citibusiness Gold fails the mark.

I think Investec has top spot at the moment...

Are you sure they are not referring to any Govt fees/taxes that may apply to the card itself as opposed to you putting a Govt charge through?

How did you get them to give you 2points per $ bonus???

I just paid my taxes with AMEX...no probs.

I've used my NAB Amex to pay taxes. There's a one and a bit percent surcharge but the FF points make up for it.

The NAB Qantas Amex/Visa (you get one of each) are pretty good, especially the Platinum cards (note: Platinum, not Platinum One) which don't have earning limits. (Unlike QFF, the "Platinum One" moniker for NAB is a lower tier product, basically the old Gold card, and it does cap the FF points that can be earned.) All other things being equal, it's preferable to use the Amex to the Visa as the points-per-buck earn is better. The annual fee for a NAB Platinum Qantas Amex/Visa is $290 if I recall correctly.

First step into Citi Business Gold and just watch out for the points capping. Most AFF members get one and then if they approach the points cap they can get their partner one as well.
The ATO thread may help get you some extra points....and folks still tell me you cannot pay taxes on a credit card.

Does the citi business gold have bonus points establishments? like for signature and select?

Not sure about that but the last time I checked it was $149 and 250K points cap so that looked pretty reasonable for a 1.25 point per dollar Visa card that should get you a sign on bonus.

I know this is a bit off topic. But are the NAB platnium cards that 'aren't for sale' uncapped for points earning?
I recently got given the velocity platnium card upgrade from gold and assumed it was the same as gold + domestic insurance?

The NAB Velocity Gold Card is uncapped, according to Velocity NAB Gold Card - NAB

I would assume that any complimentary upgrade from this card would not disadvantage you, but a quick call to NAB should confirm that.

I think you should read the ATO thread somewhere here. Many of the cards exclude so called business expenses. But my experience is that if you mix things (personal and business) up a bit and use a few different cards everything is sweet.

Note though there are several posts on AFF about Woolworths cards being cancelled if obviously being used for business

Paying your personal tax is not a business expense and unless explicitly excluded would earn points.
Paying your business tax would be a business expense but the bank won't know this.
