QFF Award booking on CX/MH flights

I tried to book KUL-HKG, HKG-SGN using my Qantas points but the search showed no availability in any class from 1 to 28 Dec. The same seach on CX showed plenty availability. I am QF WP and no status with CX. Does anyone know if booking CX/MH flight no longer possible online?

I’m getting plenty of availability showing online via QFFF for KUL-HKG… all days in December, offering connections via BKK, SGN, and SIN. I picked 8 December and there were no non-stop flights. All the connections were using MH and CX.

Trying multi-city KUL-HKG and HKG-SGN i get an error message saying Ho Chi Minh is not available via qantas classic awards.

Which is really strange given one of the connections KUL-HKG is via SGN, with MH on the first sector and CX on the second.

Dunno why you can’t book HKG-SGN.

I just selected another random date… 13 Dec… options more limited but two flights are shown via either MNL or DPS. Again MH on the first sector connecting to CX.

I’m silver. Used the multi-city tool and ‘flexible dates’.

Ho Chi Minh is not available via qantas classic awards.

Yep, that is the issue. Not sure why it is allowed as a transit and not a destination, but that is the way it is.

FWIW I was able to book a classic award in JQ J SGN-MEL by calling QFF (think I won roulette and got the HBA contact centre)

CX has a similar issue where a lot of the route can't be booked after the revamped website was launched a few months ago. Took them some time to fix it. Not sure if QF is having similar issues. Could be some backend changes affecting OW award bookings.

I better write to QF and let them know. I did the same to CX. They were apparently not aware of it until I reported the issues.

The multi city search tool doesn't seem to allow any routes TO Vietnam.
If you search this normally through their main page, SYD-HKG-SGN or HAN does show up if there is availability with CX.

I'm using the main page search for a simple HKG-SGN and got the following meassage:

• We're having trouble finding flight options that match your search. Try another date or refer to our flight network page for a list of current destinations. (#7190)

Tried a few more dates and still the same. A search on CX showed plenty of availability.
